Trail Blazer mission training is MANDATORY in order to participate
on a mission. Training takes place at the Trail Blazer Base Camp in Lapeer, MI. At Base Camp, we will cover
all of the rules for the trip, cultural sensitivity, ministry objectives and team building. Training is scheduled into
the trip before we leave. The team will also receive debriefing at the end of the trip to make sure you are ready to
return home.
Team building is one of our favorite aspects of missions and consists of low ropes (and
sometimes high ropes) activities outdoors on wooded property. Please dress comfortably (tennis shoes, jogging pants
or shorts that are no more than 2" above the knee and a shirt that can be tucked in).
Base Camp
begins the day of arrival! We will begin by covering the rules, which are strictly
enforced and make sure you understand what WAMY means. (At this
point, you should have already signed a Code of Conduct agreement and mailed it to the TBM headquarters.) Each Trail
Blazer will be commissioned by your leaders. Day two is team building! Get ready to have a blast as you get to
know your team and learn how to work together!
